2010 alumna named Rhodes Scholar

Priya Mallika Sury, a 2010 graduate in anthropology and Spanish, both in Arts & Sciences, has been named one of 32 Rhodes Scholars from across the United States. Winners of the highly acclaimed award are chosen on the basis of their undergraduate academic achievements, personal integrity, leadership potential and physical vigor. FULL STORY

Seizing control of South American parasite

Olin Cup competition finalists named

The field in the 2010 Olin Cup business plan competition was narrowed Nov. 18 as 21 semifinalists faced off in the elevator pitch stage of the race for entrepreneurs. Six ventures were selected to advance to the final round in February of the annual contest that will award $75,000 to the most promising enterprise. FULL STORY

Picture this: Hall of Fame team honor

Women’s basketball coach Nancy Fahey picks up a special achievement award from the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Nov. 16 on behalf of the women’s basketball team. The Hall of Fame Award of Champions was presented to the coach at a dinner that inducted 16 to the local Hall of Fame and honored the Bears for winning the 2010 NCAA Division III  basketball championship last March. Law school’s Trial Team sweeps competition

  • Women’s volleyball falls in national semifinal. Top-ranked Emory University defeated No. 3 WUSTL 3-1 in the NCAA Division III semifinal Nov. 20. Emory’s victory snapped a 33-match home winning streak for the Bears. The volleyball team finished the season with a 35-4 record.
